How the split works
Evenly: the total, with delivery, is divided by the number of items. Any leftover cents go one each to the first items, so the parts always add up to exactly what you paid.
By weight: give each item a weight from 1 to 10. A coat you expect to sell for €40 and a T-shirt you expect to sell for €8 shouldn’t carry the same cost. Each item’s share follows its weight, and the leftover cents go where they make the least difference.
Why it matters: profit is the sale price less what the item cost and the postage. Without each item’s share of the lot, every sale’s profit is a guess, and so is knowing which buys and suppliers pay off.
Does delivery count towards the cost?
Yes. What you paid to get the lot to you is part of what it cost, so it’s shared across the items with the price.
Should I split evenly or by weight?
Evenly is fine when the items are alike. Weight it when a few pieces carry most of the value, so the cheap items don’t look less profitable than they are.
